Every year I make a christmas mix CD of all songs I was into that year, and I always put one of my own recordings on there to make sure I record at least one song a year. In 2018 it got to December and I hadn't recorded anything, so I decided to go back to the techniques I used as a teenager making hip-hop music. I chopped up a loop from a record and wrote some lyrics over it. Then I got Jason to come lay down six takes of guitar over the top and chopped up my favourite parts to make some more loops. Then it took it Helena's place, she recorded a few tracks of backing vocals and i chopped them up to my liking. I took it to Jacky WInter's studio and we mixed it, and then we also punched out a mix without the original loop it was built on, just the vocals and guitar floating in space. I like 'em both!
